واهو هلّ رمضان يا أحبابنا
Oh, Ramadan has arrived, dear ones.

وخبط الخير علي بابنا
Bringing blessings as it knocks on our door.

والبدر حلّ فى سما دارنا
The full moon shines over our home.

والهم شافه مشي وسابنا
And worries see it and walk away.

ما تعلقو لنا بقي الزينه
So let’s hang decorations.

علي سطح ناسنا واهالينا
On the rooftops of our loved ones and neighbors.

ويله نستقبل رمضان
Come on, let’s welcome Ramadan.

دا اغلي ضيف هلّ علينا
The dearest guest has come to us.

يا عم هلّ تعالي قرب
Come closer, come near!

مفيش خصام فى نهار رمضان
No quarrels during Ramadan’s daylight.

علي ايه نعاند او نهرب
Why argue or run away?

نتمشي نطلع فى التسابيح
Let’s walk and join in prayers.

نتوضي ونصلي التراويح
Perform ablution and pray Tarawih.

ونرد بالخير في الأرواح
Let’s spread goodness in our hearts.

ونود ناسنا وحبابينا
And visit our family and friends.

يا دهر أبشر قد بلغت الشان
Oh time, rejoice, for you have reached greatness.

أعلاك قدراً شهرنا رمضان
Ramadan has honored you with its presence.

على جبينك قد أضاء تيجانه
Its crown shines upon your forehead.

لما تنزّل في جوفه القرآن
For in it, the Quran was revealed.

يا ابو البشاير يا رمضان
Oh, bringer of glad tidings, Ramadan!

دا انا كنت بدعي في كل أذان
I prayed at every call to prayer.

املّي عيني بفوانيسك
To fill my eyes with your lanterns.

واختم في لياليك القرآن
And complete the Quran in your nights.

والنقشبندي والتواشيح
The melodies of Naqshbandi and religious hymns.

والمدفع اللي بيملى الريح
The cannon firing into the breeze.

ومسحراتي يعدي يقول
And the Mesaharati calling out:

يا نايم اصحي بقي تعبنا
“O sleeper, wake up! We’ve waited long enough!”
