When temperatures rise in the summer, the body also heats up due to the loss of fluids. Pregnant women suffer greatly during this period, with most experiencing weakness and fatigue. The increase in heat can cause discomfort, difficulty breathing, leg pain, constant dizziness, and imbalance, all of which negatively affect their mental state. This, combined with the pain of pregnancy, can lead to depression. Therefore, we advise pregnant women as follows:

  1. Eat Plenty of Fruits and Vegetables:
    • Avoid irritating foods such as spices, pickles, and carbonated drinks. The large amount of industrial chemicals in these can cause problems for pregnant women.
    • Consuming a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables during pregnancy provides essential nutrients for your baby’s growth and your health. The fiber they contain gives you the energy you need throughout the day without requiring large amounts of food, ensuring good health even after childbirth.
  2. Wear Cotton or Linen Clothing:
    • Cotton fibers are breathable and moisture-wicking, unlike wool or synthetic fibers, which retain heat and moisture. Synthetic colors can cause skin problems due to sweat interacting with those colors.
  3. Avoid Exposure to the Burning Sun:
    • Pregnant skin is more sensitive to the sun and more prone to complications, so avoid exposing your skin to harsh sunlight in hot weather.
  4. Drink Plenty of Cold Fluids:
    • Pregnant women should drink about 8 cups of water daily, as it absorbs internal body heat, providing comfort and promoting early sleep. Water plays a vital role in helping the body function regularly and feel safe.
  5. Maintain Regular Exercise:
    • Regular exercise is crucial for pregnant women in the summer. Physical activity prevents many unwanted diseases and prepares you better for labor. It’s essential to keep your body strong and healthy during the summer months.
