Molten cake, also known as lava cake, is one of the most famous desserts. It’s a small cake with a rich chocolate flavor, featuring a liquid chocolate center that flows out when cut. Here’s how to prepare molten cake using restaurant-quality ingredients, brought to you by Socuta.

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams butter
  • 200 grams dark chocolate
  • 200 grams sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 100 grams flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • A bit of vanilla (optional)
  • A pinch of salt
  • Chocolate-filled chocolate pieces

Preparation Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180-200°C (350-390°F).
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate in a bowl over a water bath until completely melted, then let the mixture cool slightly.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture becomes creamy. Add the melted chocolate and butter to the egg and sugar mixture and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the flour and baking powder to the mixture and blend together.
  5. If desired, add vanilla and a pinch of salt for extra flavor. Fill cupcake molds about two-thirds full with the mixture.
  6. Place a piece of chocolate-filled chocolate in the center of each mold.
  7. Bake the cakes in the oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the center remains slightly liquid.
  8. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
  9. Serve the molten cakes warm, showcasing their delicious, gooey chocolate center.

Tips:

  • The key to this cake is not to overbake it, ensuring the center remains liquid and indulgent.
  • You can decorate the molten cake with powdered sugar, cocoa, or even raspberries or other fruits to add a decorative touch and extra flavor.
